Frequently asked questions

How are the prices on this site calculated?

We show indicative ex-showroom / starting prices compiled from public sources. Your final on-road price varies by city, taxes, insurance and dealer offers — always confirm with an authorized dealer.

How often is the catalogue updated?

Our pipeline discovers new and updated models continuously and refreshes content automatically, so listings stay current.

Do you sell cars or share my details with dealers?

No. We are an independent research portal — there is no login required to browse and we do not push your details to dealers.

How to use CarQuill to shortlist your next car

There are hundreds of new-car variants on sale in India and almost all of them are competent. The difficulty is not finding a good car, it is finding the one that fits your budget, your roads and the way your family actually uses a vehicle. This site is organised around that problem.

Start with the on-road price, not the ex-showroom price

Every price on this site is ex-showroom unless we say otherwise, because that is the only figure that is comparable nationally. What you will actually pay depends on your state's road tax, which ranges from around 6% to well past 15%, plus insurance and registration. Our city pages work that calculation through for each of the cities we cover, using the real tax rate for that state, so you can see what a car costs where you live.

Narrow by body type and use, then by badge

Most buyers arrive with a brand in mind and a budget attached to it. It is usually more productive the other way round: decide what the car has to do, daily city commute, weekend highway runs, seven seats, rough village roads, and let that pick the body type. Then compare everything in that body type within your budget. The brand chips and body-type pages exist for exactly this.

Use the comparison tool on two or three cars, not ten

Compare pages are most useful once you are down to a genuine shortlist. Put the specific variants you would buy side by side, look at the full specification groups rather than the headline numbers, and pay attention to boot space, rear legroom and ground clearance, the three things owners most often complain about later.

Then work out the finance. The EMI calculator uses the same amortisation formula your bank does, and the guide beneath it explains what the monthly figure leaves out.

What we do and do not claim

Specifications on CarQuill are compiled from publicly available manufacturer information and are indicative, not contractual, variants and prices change frequently and vary by city. Vehicle images are illustrations created for this site, not manufacturer photography. Our reviews and verdicts are editorial opinion. Nobody pays for a placement, a rating or a recommendation here.

Always confirm the final price, variant specification and availability with an authorised dealer before you buy.
