Maruti Suzuki Cars

10 models available.

Maruti Suzuki has been the default answer to "which car should I buy" in India since the 800 arrived in 1983. Built out of Gurgaon, Manesar and Suzuki's Gujarat plant, it still accounts for roughly four in every ten new cars sold in the country. The line-up is split across two retail chains: Arena for the mass-market cars and Nexa for the pricier ones.

CarQuill India currently tracks 10 Maruti Suzuki models. Prices run from ₹5.80 Lakh for the WagonR up to ₹12.74 Lakh for the Jimny. The line-up covers sedan, hatchback, crossover, suv and muv body styles. Fuel options across the range include petrol, cng, petrol (cng) and petrol-hybrid. Every model here offers an automatic.

What to weigh up before you buy

Two things keep buyers coming back: the service network reaches into towns where rivals have no presence at all, and resale values stay stubbornly high. The trade-off is that the cheaper models feel plain next to a Hyundai or Tata at the same price, and Maruti was slow to take crash-test ratings seriously. If you drive a lot in the city, the factory-fitted CNG range is the cheapest running cost you can buy new.
