Tata Cars

4 models available.

Tata Motors spent the 2010s rebuilding its passenger-car business almost from scratch, and the turnaround worked. The Nexon, Punch, Harrier and Safari now sell in numbers the Indica and Nano era never managed, and Tata is comfortably the largest electric-car seller in the country.

CarQuill India currently tracks 4 Tata models. Prices run from ₹5.80 Lakh for the Tiago up to ₹12.99 Lakh for the Nexon EV. The line-up covers suv and hatchback body styles. Fuel options across the range include petrol, diesel, cng and electric. Every model here offers an automatic.

What to weigh up before you buy

Safety is the headline. Tata pushed hard for Global NCAP testing and several of its cars carry five stars, which changed how Indian buyers talk about body structure. The cars ride well and feel substantial. Against that, fit and finish is still a step behind Hyundai and Kia, and software niggles in the touchscreen and electronics are a common owner complaint.
