The Mahindra XEV 9e is the brand's most ambitious electric vehicle to date, a large fastback SUV built on the globally developed INGLO platform. The XEV 9e sits at the top of Mahindra's new electric portfolio and makes a statement from the moment you see it in person. The sweeping fastback roofline, flush door handles, and clean flanks give it a silhouette unlike anything else on Indian roads at this price point. Built on the INGLO platform co-developed with Volkswagen Group, the underpinnings are fundamentally sound, bringing European-grade structural rigidity and a low centre of gravity thanks to the floor-mounted battery pack that keeps weight well distributed. Behind the wheel, the single rear motor delivers a confident 228 bhp and 380 Nm, enough to make highway overtaking a point-and-squirt affair without drama. The charging story is one of the XEV 9e's strongest cards: 175 kW DC fast charging can replenish from 10 to 80 percent in under 30 minutes at a compatible charger. For buyers in metros with reliable fast-charger access this effectively eliminates range anxiety. The 59 kWh entry variants bring the price down meaningfully but clip range to around 380-420 km in real use, which still covers the average Indian family's weekly driving many times over before a charge is needed.
