Audi Q7
Three-row luxury that drives like less
Audi Q7 review
The Audi Q7 is the brand's full-size, three-row SUV for buyers who want German polish without stepping up to a body-on-frame land yacht. It pairs a smooth turbocharged V6 with standard all-wheel drive and a cabin built around twin touchscreens. Roomy in the first two rows, genuinely usable in front, and refined on the highway, the Q7 leans toward composed comfort over outright sportiness. It competes hard on materials, technology, and ride quality.
On the road the Q7 feels exactly like a premium Audi should: quiet, planted, and effortless. The 3.0-liter turbo V6 with mild-hybrid assistance pulls strongly from low revs, and the eight-speed automatic shifts so smoothly you rarely notice it working. Standard quattro all-wheel drive gives confident traction in rain and snow, while the available air suspension irons out broken pavement without floating. It's a big vehicle, but tight steering and an optional all-wheel-steering setup make it easier to place than its footprint suggests.
Inside, the Q7 still sets a high bar for fit and finish. Soft-touch surfaces, real metal trim, and tight panel gaps make the cabin feel expensive, and the dual-screen MMI setup looks modern even years into this generation. The downside is that nearly every function lives in those touchscreens, including climate controls, which means more glances away from the road than physical buttons would require. The haptic feedback helps, but it's a trade-off some buyers won't love.
Space is a mixed story. The first two rows are excellent, with generous legroom, supportive seats, and easy access. The third row, however, is best treated as occasional seating for kids or short trips rather than full-size adults. Cargo room behind the third row is modest, though folding it flat opens up a large, well-finished load bay. Families who regularly carry seven people may find a Q7's rivals or a larger SUV more practical.
Value depends on how you option it. The base Premium trim is well equipped, but Audi's pricier packages add up quickly, and a loaded Prestige can push toward luxury-flagship money. Fuel economy is unremarkable for the class, and premium gas is required. Still, for ride quality, interior craftsmanship, and everyday refinement, few three-row SUVs feel as cohesive.

Owner reviews
Quiet, classy, and easy to live with
The cabin feels like it costs more than I paid, and long road trips are genuinely relaxing. The V6 has plenty of pull when merging. My only gripe is that everything runs through the screens, so adjusting the temperature takes more attention than it should.
Great for five, tight for seven
We bought it for the third row, but it really only works for our kids. Front and middle seats are fantastic and the build quality is excellent. Fuel economy is just okay, and premium gas adds up around town.
Still feels new every drive
After two years it's been reliable and the ride on the air suspension is superb on rough roads. It handles winter with zero drama thanks to quattro. I do wish I'd skipped a few pricey packages that didn't add much.
